BU Arts Initiative
Overview
The Boston University Arts Initiative is a community project that ensures the arts are fundamental to the student experience. It develops and supports university-wide programs to enhance the role of the arts at BU. This mobile app is designed to enhance students' experiences with art event organization, engagement, and participation.
My Role
I redesigned the BU Arts Initiative app user interface to enhance user experience and increase campus engagement with BU art events.
I am also the project manager of this project. I arrange weekly team meetings and provided regular progress updates to client.

Defining the Problem
The previous BU Arts Initiative app had an inconsistent user interface, with mixed button designs and insufficient event details like descriptions and images.
This lack of clarity made it difficult for students to understand the listed events. Moreover, the app failed to clearly distinguish between student and administrator functions, leading to a confusing user experience.
User Flow
The mobile application is designed to accommodate two distinct user profiles, each with varying levels of administrative access:
Student Users: They are granted the capabilities to:
- Register for events.
- Access event information.
- Submit reviews post-event participation.
Administrators: They hold elevated permissions, enabling them to:
- Create new event listings.
- Update existing event details.
- Monitor the roster of students registered for each event.
